Ahh, yet another advanturer in search of a gothic\anime artist. :)

My friend is a sort of gothic\some anime artist, but his art is vary amateur. One thing is certain. He is self thought, thus his style is 100% original. I can send you some of his work, just tell me how. On the other hand, he will draw art for my blog, so there is a source.

And Mr. Elderly. There is a pussycat of sort in the second pic.
Or is it a rodent?

..(puts on glasses....) by damn your right itsa pussycat.. egyptian i think... how did that get there...

re friend if he posts some of the images on flickr or photoshop and throws us the link here i'll do a post on him ... though having them on your blog will drive some traffic your way........

All pics I give you will be exclusive. So none of them on my blog.
One more thing. The two of us had a tallk abour your blog and the art you post here. Your taste he found to his liking. So...
He told me to ask you what would you want him to draw for you. You tell me what would you like to see in drawing, and he'll do it.
That besides the other pictures I'll point you to.

..you kiddin? that would be incredible... jeez... right ..well at present my favourite character piece is David Gough's "Fairies do it better" (top image on the following webpage.

see:
http://forbiddenforrest.blogspot.com/2007/03/
david-gough-fantasy-art.html

set against anything forbodingly gothic would be ace.... Cathedral, monastic ruins...

are you sure about this.. that would be absolutely splendiferooosis....

..if he can get a small bio together as well, eg. favourite art medium, subject, themes.. favourite artists...

wow!

LOL

Why Mr. Elderly, besides being my best friend, he did offer to do it.

And furthermore, the taste of both of you seem to match perfectly. Although he does tend to draw mainly character art and forgets to do the background.

But be warned, this artist you pointed me to has more painting experience in years than me or my friend have lived.

So, if I'm not mistaken, the pic would be a goth girl, preferably whit questionable clothing, knowing the artist (from now Angel) she will probably be a succubus, perhaps wings, a sinister grin on her face, maybe a elderly male figure in the back (left shoulder perhaps), loads of dark shaded colors... Now that I think about it, Angel tends to paint monochromatic, while on the other hand when he does use colors my yaw brakes, mainly because his style is more than unique.

The bio is no problem. I'll go and interview him my self, which is no problem since I see him more than 4 times a week.

But to get more pics you will need to pay in criticism. Be truthful and comment on what we give you as you would a fully fledged artist, and more art will come. :D

Oh, and if you would ever like the actual paper whit the drawn picture, mail me.

(ponders deeply on his forgetfulness dogma)

I think that's all..?

...your summary is a faithful rendition in itself, and whereas I can see the benefit of criticism, i can also see it's pitfalls, for example david gough's rendition of the human figure may not be technically perfect, but the goth fairy has a lot more going for it.. World weary, decadent, .. but what I see may not be what others take away...

the elderly figure in the background wouldn't be a prerequisite, unless perhaps as a counterfoil to the energy from the central character..

hope he's happy with the final post.....

When criticism is in question, I'm not really asking what is correct or what would sell a book. I just want your opinion. Tell me what you like so that Angel can relate to that when drawing.
As for the elderly figure... I was just having some artistic fun. Every female character could have a male counterpart, giving the picture sort of a background story, hoping no to cliche.

Unknown said...

....indeed i will do my utmost to be as helpful as i can.. as you can probably tell,

I've done a quick scan through the art posts i've featured, and apparently it appears i lean toward independent, aloof, strong characters, often other worldly..... with a hint of decadence

..as for the elderly figure, you had me worried....

Found some old pics Angel drew some year or so back.
Having scanned them via some old pre WW 2 German washing machine I got something totally new.
Just give it a look.

By that time I will get a proper scanner.

Yep that's a pretty good introduction,...that alucard tribute scan is powerful.....
.... i took the liberty of throwing some of the scans into photoshop, they clean up really well, the Angel jpg i love,

I could start with a introductory piece with three of the scans, or should i wait...

Angels got raw talent..

by the way I could look at the scanner for you, i've got my screwdriver here somewhere....

Hello again Mr. Elderly.

Much more.

Give me a day to finish uploading and sorting them out. Afterwards I'll just tell you the ones I'm going to use on my blog. The rest are all yours.

Expect more uploaded by the day, since I have here about 400 of Angels drawings. Some even dating back to the 199'.

Hope you like them. :)

Hm. Not to much sence in that last comment.
Oh well...

Uploaded some more just now...

You are free to use all pictures in the "random art" album.
From the "character art" please leave the "legends" to me as I will be using them on my blog.
There is "An Elderly Tribute" album where I will store everything you commission form Angel. Don't be shy to do so, ask for more.

"Blog" album is for my court.

More will come... Rest assured.

Forgot to say.
Pick which you like and make an introduction.

Here is a short bio of the artist composed by yours truly.
Take what you need.

The young aspiring artist has been drawing for fun, from love, as long as he can remember. Never attending any form of art education, he is completely self thought trough life experience and impressions. His style is vary original, incorporating elements from many wide spread forms of art by taking what he likes the most. Gothic character art, whit a small manga element, is what he draws the most. Inspiring his life as his art are Guts from the Berserk manga, Ashram from Lodoss, Vlad "The Impaler" Dracula and many more.
His greatest flaw, however, is a total lack of patience leading to a frightening 14 min average in drawing time. I personally calculated the numbers.
Most of what you see dear Elderly was done in less than 15 min..!
Exceptions when ample coloring is involved, for then he need some 8-12 minutes more. Nevertheless the average is still 14.

Unknown said...

wow, just home so i'll post the overview tommorrow when im fresh.... 14 minutes... does he get bored or what? excellent piece of writing Nikolas, thank you

just to confirm

i'm free to use random art check!
"legends" are for your blog check!

Nikolas said...

Never a problem, friend.
If it ever should occur that you have a good idea witch you can't materialise trough art, ask Angel becouse he might.
The two he drew for you where random ideas. Both of us would really like a concrete thought with as much detail as possible.

Perhaps Mr. Gnome would like one as well?

Oh, I did not answer your question...
He draws a picture so little in time for the next reason.

The main thing defining any expresion of thought as art is the story the it tells and the emotions it carries. No matter how good anyone paints, draws, sculpts, sings or performs, a soulless art form is still blank.

(VOID)

wow.... are you sure your both not visitors from an advanced race...

profound Nikolas.....wisdom beyond your years....

Nikolas said...

Come now, you'll just make me blush.

This is definitely to big of a compliment for me to accept, not to mention Angel for he thrives on his semi-depression.

Thank you for giving me my first actual compliment.

Not counting "Good job", "Nice", "You lucky bastard" and so on.

Unknown said...

i apologise for the lucky bastard bit.. I was tired.. over caffeined,

believe me though at 18 my deepest thoughts involved the local policeman's daughter and where i'd watch the next star trek episode.... some of us take longer to mature.. you both seemed to have that nailed on the head already... it'll stand to you over time....
