Princpal female character from Square Enix's Final Fantasy xiii-2. Serah is Lightning's younger sister, turned to crystal on completion of her focus but restored at the end of the first game. In xii-2, she has taken on the role of a teacher in the village of Bodhum.  During an attack on the village by monsters she is saved by Noel Kreiss. 

Together they set out to find Lightning, a journey that awakens her ability to see the future and setting her determination to change things for the better.

Several alternate outfits for Serah were released by way of downloadable content.

Whilst I eagerly await the release of Final Fantasy XIII-2, I've been thinking back on my experiences with the Final Fantasy series, and one character oddly sprung to mind, as if a reason for posting some Final Fantasy wallpaper was needed.

セフィロス Sephiroth, f, S  fffirst appeared as the main antagonist in RPG Final Fantasy VII (1997), his existence the result of an experiment by the mega-corporation Shinra, in which they manipulated cells from the alien lifeform "Jenova".  After discovering his origins, Sephiroth decides to become a god and take control of the planet. 

Sephiroth demanded every ounce of attention during the game, as his appearance generally culminated in widespread carnage and devastation.  With Plantinum hair, black leather jacket and insanely long  masamune sword, perhaps one of the coolest baddies on the gaming planet.

In the Final Fantasy universe  Sephiroth has appeared as a  main character in the Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII (a Prequel to Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII) as well as cameo appearances in:

Nier is an action role-playing video game, published by Square Enix, and the last game to be developed by Cavia
Released for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in Australia, Europe, Japan and North America in April 2010. In Japan, the game was an Xbox 360 exclusive titled Nier Gestalt, while an alternate version titled Nier Replicant was released for PlayStation 3 with a younger main character.

The Gameplay follows the main character, Nier, as he attempts to find a cure for an illness, known as the Black Scrawl, which has infected his daughter, Yonah.

Nier is a skilled fighter trained in the ways of the one-handed sword, as the game progresses he gains mastery over the spear and two-handed sword.  Those close to Nier see him as a kind-hearted man with a strong sense of honor and an incredible work ethic

Sequel to Final Fantasy xiii and set three years after the events of the first game.  FFxiii-2 uses a variation of the Active Time Battle (ATB) system and the Paradigm Shift system. The new system promises to address issues with the previous game.

FFxiii-2 features two new playable characters: Serah Farron, Lightning's younger sister, and Noel Kreiss, a mysterious young time traveler from 700 years in the future who uses dual combinable swords. Lightning the principal character from xiii-2 has gone missing in an unknown world and Serah and Noel set out to find her.

Lightning will be playable in the game though with brief appearances, in addition Snow Villiers and Hope Estheim  return but with drastically new appearances.

Other new characters include Caius Ballad, the bad guy, his companion Paddra Nsu-Yeul, a mysterious Pulsian seeress and Alyssa Zaidelle, a young girl with short blonde hair who works as part of the Academy organization as Hope's assistant.

The game's theme song for the Xbox 360 release is "New World" by Charice, while the PlayStation 3 releases is "Yakusoku no Basho" 約束の場所, "The Promised Meeting" by Mai Fukui

Born Osaka, Japan, Asuka Kazama 風間 飛鳥  is a character from Tekken, an arcade fighting game franchise created and developed by Namco.

Asuka was introduced in Tekken 5 and returned for Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection, Tekken 6, and Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion.

From early childhood Asuka was taught Kazama-style Traditional Martial Arts by her father, a dojo-master. She is the niece of Jun Kazama, and a cousin of Jin Kazama. Asuka speaks with a very heavy Kansai Japanese dialect.

Her principal rival is Emilie "Lili" De Rochefort, though Asuka also harbors a grudge against Feng Wei who destroyed her father's dojo.

Asuka believes very strongly in justice and devotes much of her free time to righting wrongs.  Depicted as brash and arrogant, she appears to revel in the fighting.

Charcter from the 2003 Ps2 game "Primal".  Jennifer Tate, aka Jen, grew up in a string of foster homes and prior to the game storyline was working as a waitress in order to fund her college education. With a short temper and an equally sharp tongue, Jen is not adverse to showing her compassionate side when required. In the course of the game she obtains the ability to transform herself into various demon forms, each affording her different powers.

Black★Rock Shooter (ブラック★ロックシューター, Burakku Rokku Shuutaa) BRS or Rock for short, is the main protagonist of the ova,anime and game franchise by the same name,

Initially depicted as a calm and collected girl, only speaking at the end of the original ova when she confronts her "other self", Kuroi Mato.

Her weapons consist of a black-hilted katana, later called  Black Blade and a large gun called ★rock Cannon. A blue flame shoots out from her left eye.   Single minded and skilled in fighting she later adopts a a pair of metallic wings and a jet engine on her back in game release. Black Rock Shooter is tasked with the duty of maintaining the peace within a world between Heaven and Earth called the Threshold.  Considered to be the ultimate weapon, her abilities are the only hope to save Earth from utter destruction.

In the OVA, she is a resident of the Other World who merges with Mato in order to rescue Yomi who was possessed by Dead Master.

In Innocent Soul, she resides in the world of Hazama, a plane between Heaven and Earth, and her job is to purify stagnant souls whose regrets caused them to become trapped in this realm and become demons that attack other souls.

In the game, she is a cyborg that is awoken from a capsule in the year 2051, thrown into a battlefield where aliens threaten mankind. She is the creation of Dr. Gibson, whose real name is Stella (ステラ Sutera?), and is a clone of the original White Rock Shooter.
