First appearing in Daredevil (Vol. 1) #168 (1980), Elektra is driven by tragedy and honed by training, Elektra kills for money, loves for thrills... and leaves destruction in her wake. Elektra’s mother was assassinated by her own son and Elektra’s father was killed while being held hostage by terrorists. Driven by anger and grief, she threw herself into martial arts training and has become a ruthless and highly trained killer, joining a series of lethal martial arts clans only to break free each time to forge her own path. Despite former accomplice Daredevil’s love for her, Elektra travels the world as a lone assassin, addicted to violence, blood and death.
Elektra wields a pair of three-pronged daggers, or sai. A Master martial artist, she is an Olympic-level athlete and gymnast and extremely proficient in the use of various martial-arts implements.

just the one it seems, but methinks it was following a most horrendous battle which shred her evening dress to ribbons.....
